Profile
Dr. Konstantinos C. Delis studied at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens; he graduated in 1983. He attended specialty training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Evangelismos Hospital and Tzaneio Hospital of Piraeus respectively. He attended postgraduate training in the modern techniques of Interventional Endoscopy at The Royal London Hospital with a scholarship funded by the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology. At the same time, he conducted original research work at the Gastrointestinal Science Research Unit, London Hospital Medical College.
He holds a PhD from the University of Athens Medical School and a Diploma from the European Board of Gastroenterology. His scientific activities include a large number of conference papers in medical conferences in Greece and abroad, as well as scientific publications in reputable international and Greek medical journals. He has participated in several Greek and international conferences as a keynote speaker or conference round table chairman, as well as a member of scientific and organizing committees for conferences (www.dr-delis.gr).
Dr. Konstantinos C. Delis has a special clinical interest and activities associated with modern techniques of interventional endoscopy of the gastrointestinal system, while he is particularly interested in inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease).
He has been practicing in the private healthcare sector as a Gastroenterologist since 1993, conducting research work along with clinical practice.
He has been the Director of the Metropolitan Hospital Gastroenterology Clinic since its establishment (2001).
