PhD. Aikarerini Mastronikola-Agadakou entered and graduated with honors from the prestigious Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During her studies, her academic distinction earned her recognition through scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY).
Following the completion of her compulsory rural medical service, PhD. Mastronikola-Agadakou specialized in Pathology at the University Clinic of Pathological Physiology of the University of Athens. Her commitment to advancing medical knowledge culminated in her doctoral dissertation, "Determination of the sensitivity of acute myelogenous leukemia cells to cytostatic agents of short exposure duration," which she completed with Excellent distinction.
Throughout her illustrious career spanning over a few decades, PhD. Mastronikola-Agadakou has held numerous prestigious positions. She served as an associate physician at the "Agioi Anargyroi" Foundation of the Hellenic Anticancer Society, as an attending physician at the Social Insurance Institute (IKA), and as Medical Director in private healthcare institutions. Since 2002, she is Director of the Department of Pathology at Metropolitan Hospital, while simultaneously maintaining a private medical practice in the center of Piraeus.
Her leadership extends beyond clinical practice. PhD. Mastronikola-Agadakou served as Vice President of the Medical Society of Metropolitan Hospital and has been an active participant in continuing medical education programs. Her scholarly contributions include publications in both Greek and international scientific journals.
With extensive experience in hospital-based primary care, PhD. Mastronikola-Agadakou has been an expert in geriatric medicine. Her dedication to this field is reflected in her membership in the Hellenic Geriatrics Society.
PhD. Mastronikola-Agadakou remains at the forefront of medical advancement, continuously following developments in her specialty through UpToDate, participating in numerous Greek and international conferences, and maintaining an active presence through publications and on social media platforms.
