Pantelis Stavrinou is a neurosurgeon with many years of experience and an extensive international academic career. He has worked in leading university centers abroad and, since 2011, served as Senior Consultant (Oberarzt) at the Neurosurgical department of the University of Cologne, one of the largest neurosurgical centers in Germany. In 2019 he was appointed Associate Professor (Priv.-Doz.) at the University of Cologne, and in 2023 he became Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Nicosia (UNIC).
His areas of expertise include neuro-oncology, skull base tumor surgery, and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He has performed a large number of complex brain tumor and spinal operations and is frequently invited as a guest faculty member at international training courses. For many years, he organized and directed the international “Cologne Skull Base Course,” where neurosurgeons from around the world received specialized training.
His contribution to research is highly significant. As a member of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO), he co-authored the official guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of meningiomas (2016, 2021) and vestibular schwannomas (2019). He has also participated in numerous international multicenter neuro-oncology studies, while his scientific publications in leading journals cover the full spectrum of neurosurgery.
In spinal surgery, he holds a Master’s Diploma from the German Spine Society, with expertise in techniques such as microdiscectomy, percutaneous spinal fusion, kyphoplasty, and XLIF.
Professor Pantelis Stavrinou continues to combine clinical practice with teaching and research, always striving to provide comprehensive and modern care for his patients.
