Staffed by qualified scientific and nursing personnel and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the ENT Department is open to patients and ready to encounter any case that is related to this Department.
Scientific Staff
The fully trained and qualified medical and nursing staff offer reliable diagnostic and therapeutic services, in accordance with contemporary views and the latest scientific developments.
Diagnosis
Equipped with state-of-the-art devices, the Audiology, Neurotology and Endoscopy Lab offers contemporary means for diagnosis. These include hearing tests on individuals of all ages (even infants), vertigo examination, endoscopies of the nose and throat, interventional endoscopies and generally all contemporary tests of this specialty. Aided by the other Metropolitan Hospital diagnostic labs, physicians are able to provide a comprehensive diagnostic approach to ear, nose and throat disorders.
Therapeutic Intervention
When conventional treatment fails or is not indicated, the Department physicians offer quality surgical services. Other than routine interventions, they undertake specialized interventions to the nose, ear, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands and trachea. Contemporary tympanoplasty, ossiculoplasty with or without artificial prosthesis and stapedectomy provide solutions to hearing loss that is due to reparable ear damages.
Cochlear implants are placed in children or adults who are profoundly deaf or severely hard of hearing. When indicated, implantable hearing aids are placed in the ear. Nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis are treated with functional endoscopic sinus surgery or intranasal microscopic surgery, which ensure precision, and a safe, simple and painless postoperative course, limiting hospital stay to 24 hours.
Transoral Laser Microsurgery offers a contemporary solution to benign laryngeal lesions, such as nodes and polyps. Laser treatment is also used in many other procedures, such as pharyngoplasty to treat snoring and sleep apnea, tonsillectomy and nasal conchae tumor reduction.
Experience with Children
The ENT Department at Metropolitan Hospital has significant experience in diagnosing and treating pediatric ENT disorders and covers the entire range of diagnostic tests and surgical procedures, from adenoidectomy to cochlear implantation.
