PROFILE
Panagiotis V. Kouloumentas is a graduate of the Athens University Medical School. He attended specialty training in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Evangelismos and KAT hospitals. During 2007-2008, he was a Clinical and Research Fellow (postgraduate training) at the University Sports Injury Clinic, Technical University of Munich (Sport Orthopaedie, Klinikum Rechts der Isar, Technische Universitaet Muenchen) under Professor Andreas Imhoff, where he attended specialty training in the treatment of sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery. He is a member of the Hellenic, European and International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine ΕΑΕ, ESSKA, ISAKOS. Since 2008, he has been the Head Orthopedic Surgeon of the medical staff of Panathinaikos FC, having performed surgery on some of the most famous Greek and foreign footballers. In November 2014, he became Director of the Metropolitan Hospital Orthopedics and Sports Injury Clinic. He is a certified Hip and Knee Orthopedic Robotic Surgeon in the USA.

- During 2008-2014, he was Head of the medical staff of Panathinaikos FC.
- Since 2014, he has been the Head Orthopedic Surgeon of the medical staff of Panathinaikos FC and special advisor on medical issues.
- During 2012-2014, he was Director of the Sports Injury Clinic, Mediterraneo Hospital.
- Since 01/9/2010, he has been a Research Associate at the 3rd University of Athens Orthopedic Clinic, KAT Hospital, specializing in sports injuries.
- In 2010, he became Founder and Director the Athens Sports Orthopedics Clinic.
- From 27/05/2009 to 26/05/2010, he worked as an Assistant Registrar at the 3rd University of Athens Orthopedic Clinic, KAT Hospital, under Professor D. Korres.
- Since 2006, he has been an instructor of Sports Medicine (elective course) at the Athens University Medical School. Subjects: Exercise Physiology/Coaching and Treatment of Knee and Shoulder Sports Injuries.
- From 2004 to 2008, he worked as an external associate for the Hygeia Hospital 3rd Orthopedic Clinic (Director: Prof. Argyris Mitsou).

- Doctoral thesis topic: Surgical repair of massive rotator cuff ruptures of the shoulder. Dynamic assessment using an original dynamometer plate and MRI monitoring, two years post-surgery.
