Interventional Neuroradiology constitutes part of the Radiology Department and it focuses on:
- Diagnosing disorders of the head and neck (arterial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, dysplasia, benign and malignant brain and neck tumors, extra- and intracranial stenosis, etc.), which is performed with selective or superselective catheterization of these arteries
- Treating disorders such as arterial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations by way of embolization
- Restoring stenosis of carotid, vertebral and subclavian arteries by way of angioplasty
- Performing preoperative embolization of hypervascular brain or neck tumors, aimed at reducing intraoperative blood loss and facilitating tumor resection
