PROFILE
He was born in Istanbul in 1966; he studied at the Phanar Greek Orthodox College and Zografeion Lyceum.
1988-1994: Medical School, University of Iaşi.
In 1994 he presented his thesis entitled: “Midline Cervical Cysts and Fistulae, Deriving from the Thyroglosal Tract."
1995-1996: Mandatory rural service, Eratyra Regional Medical Center, Siatista Health Center, Kozani.
Specialty training in Surgery at the Ippokrateio General Regional Hospital of Athens under the supervision of Surgery Professor George Androulakis; Specialty Training Certificate acquired on 20/12/2002.
He has attended specialty training in various centers in Greece and abroad. In summary: 3 years at a Surgical Intensive Care Unit treating critically ill surgical patients and multiple trauma patients; extra specialty training in breast surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery.
He is particularly interested in thyroid and parathyroid gland surgery (www.thyroidscience.gr).
He has extensive research work and publications on surgical manuals, as well as significant published articles in Greek and foreign journals.
He is a member of the following scientific societies: Hellenic Surgical Society, Hellenic Society for Trauma, European Society for Trauma, Hellenic Association for Endoscopic Surgery, European Association for Endoscopic Surgery, Hellenic Society of Breast Surgeons.
He served as a surgery specialist at several hospitals, while since 01/01/2003 he has been working as an Associate Director of the Metropolitan Hospital Surgical Clinic, having performed hundreds of operations.
In 2013 he acquired a PhD in Surgery from the University of Athens.
