For a long time at the Nordwest Hospital in Frankfurt, he trained many Greek urologists in laparoscopic urology. He later hosted them as visiting physicians. In October 2006, he performed the first robotic radical prostatectomy surgery in Greece. He currently holds, based on the statistical data of the company representing the da Vinci robotic system in Greece, a record of the most – and most successful – robotic urological surgeries.
- In September 2006, upon his return to Greece, he founded and directed the Department of Urology at the Athens Medical Center and Doctors’ Hospital, operating on a huge number of patients using the most current techniques, such as advanced laparoscopic urology, endourology, microsurgery, laser and robotic urology.
- Since November 2011, after accepting an invitation from the Metropolitan Hospital Management upon installment of the newest da Vinci Si robotic system, he organized and managed the first robotic urology clinic at this private hospital, providing services to all the southern suburbs of Athens. His teaching work includes training of medical students, nurses, and interns. He has taught courses on laparoscopic, robotic and laser surgeries. He is by far the most experienced robotic surgeon in Greece and one of the most experienced robotic urologists in Europe and worldwide.
