Postgraduate Training Abroad
He attended postgraduate training in England, from August 1980 to October 1981. Making use of an educational leave from the University of Athens, he worked in the Department of Neurological Science, Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London (Director: Prof. P.K. Thomas). During his time at the Royal Free Hospital, he participated in the clinical work of the Neurological Clinic and attended weekly presentations of clinical cases at the Neurological Clinics of Royal Free Hospital, University College, Whittington Hospital and University Department of Clinical Neurology (Queen Square). He also attended lectures at the Institute of Neurology. He participated in patient electro-diagnostic tests at the Royal Free Hospital and the Clinical Neurophysiology Department, National Hospital for Nervous Disease (Prof. N. Murray). At the same time, he took part in the Clinic’s various research activities on experimental diabetes in mice and monkeys.
